New York Tartan Day 2017
Tartan Day has turned into a week-long celebration
of Scottish heritage on the streets of New York
In 1998 the US Senate declared April 6 as Tartan Day to recognise the contributions made to the United States by Scottish-Americans.
The two-band march that year has since grown into a week-long festival with Scottish-themed events, gatherings and ceilidhs surrounding a parade of thousands of marchers and pipers on Sixth Avenue.
New York Tartan Week’s committee will be sending us updates from the celebrations all week – so check below for the latest images and reviews.
