The only church built by Charles Rennie Mackintosh is a triumph of his career
The exterior of the Mackintosh Queen’s Cross isn’t the most elaborate but the inside is picturesque. The windows are predictably gothic and in keeping with Mackintosh’s love affair with the particular panes of glass.
The simplicity of the design is what makes the former church stunning.
Now the building is a venue for concerts, meetings and seminars. It has even hosted pop-up restaurants and art exhibitions.
Just metres away from both Partick Thistle Football Club’s Firhill Stadium and the River Clyde, the church is in an unassuming position in Glasgow.
