Old Pulteney, The Maritime Malt, has partnered with sustainable seafood supplier Fish To Your Door to create a sensory ‘at home’ whisky and seafood experience, perfect for adding that special touch to nights in over the festive period.
The perfect gift for those longing for a taste of the sea in lockdown, the seafood hamper includes fresh oysters alongside a bottle of the award-winning Old Pulteney 12-Year-Old single malt to flavour and pair with.
Distilled and matured by the sea on Scotland’s most northerly shores, Old Pulteney’s casks are cocooned by salty air-swept ashore on Arctic winds, leaving a distinctively briny taste, ideal for pairing with seafood.
In addition to exceptional whisky and fresh UK sourced oysters, there will be two hamper options, with a selection of fresh or ready to eat seafood, all expertly sourced by Fish to Your Door – a company which prides themselves on sustainable, fresh produce, largely sourced from UK shores.
The experience is completed with a newly launched Augmented Reality app that will allow hamper customers bring the coast to their homes, offering a whisky tasting experience like never before.
The app will also offer access to ‘Let It Slow’; a soothing coastal soundtrack from the home of The Maritime Malt which captures audio from the north coast of Scotland – from lapping sea waves and crunching sand to the rhythmic tempo of rolling casks as the team craft Old Pulteney single malt.
Here at The Scots Magazine offices, we received a seafood box sample to try! In our box was a some pre-cooked lobster, fresh oysters and delicious smoked salmon. We served up prawn and lobster cocktail and some eggs royale, which went down swimmingly with a dram of Old Pultney.
