Scotstyle Top Ten: Finalist Eight
Dundee Contemporary Arts, Dundee
Once a derelict lot and unofficial skateboard park, the DCA is now a cultural hub in Dundee city centre.
Richard Murphy Architects won the international design competition to build a new visual arts centre for the city in 1996, and subsequently developed the plot into an innovative modern space.
The DCA opened in 1999 and hosts an arthouse cinema, print works and modern art gallery.
