This month, the world-renowned classical violinist, Nicola Benedetti, shows off the Scottish places that mean the most to her…

“In the most romantic sense, the Cairngorms and Speyside sum up Scotland” – Nicola Benedetti

Sunset over Ailsa Craig and The Isle of Arran from the beach at Lendalfoot Bay South Ayrshire, Scotland.

Arran

I’d love a picture on my wall of Arran and Ailsa Craig. My favourite view would be from that little bit of the Ayrshire coastline where you can see them both. It’s the view that I grew up with and I can be found staring at it forever when I go home.

Auchinleck House, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Auchinleck Estate

I have fond childhood memories of Auchinleck Estate in Ayrshire. My mother grew up there, and some of my favourite memories are walking in the woods – and nearly falling off cliffs with my uncle’s dog. We would often take his pet goat with us, too! I felt happiest there.
