Lammermuir Festival Gives East Lothian Added Lustre
The Lammermuir festival of classic music is back
right across the region from September 15 to 24
East Lothian is a beautiful part of the country at the best of times, but for a few days in September each year it takes on added lustre.
The reason – the Lammermuir Festival, a 10-day classical music extravaganza that lures the world’s top musicians to perform in some of the region’s most delightful settings.
Internationally-renowned artists
and exciting new talent
Compared to other musical gatherings the Festival is only in its infancy, having been founded in 2007. But since then it has gone from strength to strength with imaginative programming that leaves nothing to be desired, giving internationally-renowned artists the chance to mix with – and perform with – exciting new talent from home and abroad.
A quick glance at the programme and tempting concert after tempting concert will come tumbling out, featuring superstars like Steven Osborne, Lars Vogt, Quatuor Mosaiques and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
And with the added bonus of Mozart’s La Fintra Giadiniera on the bill from Ryedale Festival Opera, you really can’t go wrong!
Only half an hour’s drive or train journey from Edinburgh will transport you to an experience of classical music at its best.
The Lammermuir Festival runs from September 15-24 at various locations in East Lothian. For more information on concerts, performers and venues go to www.lammermuirfestival.co.uk
