Wigtown Book Fest
Opening on Friday, September 22, The Wigtown Book Festival in Scotland’s National Book Town is a fantastic celebration of the written word. A particular highlight is the 2017 McIlvanney Prize winner, Denise Mina’s talk on Saturday, September 23.
Oktoberfest Dundee
Dundee Rotary’s Oktoberfest returns to Discovery Quay with 23 local and authentic German beers, cask ales and ciders. Live music from local bands provide the backing to this brilliant charity festival on Friday, Sept 22, and Saturday, Sept 23.
Shetland Wool Week
Your world-famous Shetland textile industry and the rural farming community on these islands. Take a tour of the archives and museum, and try your hand at weaving or spinning yourself! Click here for more.
World Skimming Champs!
On Easdale Island the 20th World Stone Skimming Championships (in its current form) will take place on Sunday, September 24! Get the ferry over to spectate and enjoy the barbecue, live music and children’s entertainment.
Balgove Harvest
Celebrate autumn and the harvest with Balgove Larder, just outside St Andrews. In their Steak Barn they’ll be serving up delicious seasonal produce from Wednesday, September 27, until Sunday, October 1.
Clydebuilt
Acrosse September 23 & 24, Glasgow will play host to the first ever Clydebuilt Festival, a free celebration of boats and those that use them for work and play. Don’t miss the shore-side party on Saturday, 23!
