Mòd Loch Abar
From Friday, October 13, The Royal National Mòd is in Lochaber, for a celebration of ceilidhs, gaelic singing and traditional music. On Monday the events will be live streamed to the VisitScotland iCentre in Fort William, too.
Scotland’s Early Silver
A free exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland displaying jewellery, coins and vessels from the first millennium AD. Discover how silver was used and reused as the Roman Iron Age gave way to early medieval kingdoms which would eventually become Scotland.
Drygate Urban Market
On Sunday, October 15, Glasgow’s Drygate Brewery is hosting a free urban market with a vintage theme. Head along for a leisurely browse, and settle back with Drygate’s craft beer and burger in the beer hall.
Wild Foraging
On Saturday October 14, join Chef Paul Wedgwood and expert forager Mark Williams on a foraging adventure around Midlothian to discover local ingredients, and prepare them in dishes to tantalise the senses at Wedgewood the Restaurant.
Son of a Preacherman
The 2017 tour featuring X-factor finalist Diana Vickers comes to Edinburgh’s King’s Theatre from Tuesday, October 17. Enjoy the greatest hits of Dusty Springfield, directed and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood.
Edinburgh Oktoberfest
Until Sunday, October 15, enjoy a Bavarian beer festival in Edinburgh’s West Princes Street Gardens with lively music, authentic food and drink and a festival atmosphere.
A Hero Remembered
At the Wallace Monument across the first two weekends in October, costumed actors will provide an insight into the life of William Wallace with performances entitled A Hero Remembered. You can also catch additional performances of the popular Scotland’s National Hero.
