The Scots Magazine is the world’s best-selling Scottish-interest publication: a glossy monthly magazine that brings Scotland to life in all its glory.
Every issue is packed with entertaining and informative features celebrating the country’s rich urban and rural life, from the great outdoors to the vibrant city scene, all complemented by stunning photography.
Believed to be the oldest magazine still in publication, The Scots Magazine was first published on February 9, 1739, as a 48-page pamphlet, priced sixpence monthly. We celebrated our 250th anniversary in 2014 and have reported live on events from the Battle of Culloden and Waterloo right up to the present day.
As well as our monthly print title, we publish one-off bookazines celebrating Scottish landscapes, history and culture.

Edited by Robert Wight since March 2014, The Scots Magazine is owned by the publisher DC Thomson along with titles such as The People’s Friend, Puzzler and the Beano. The company has its headquarters in Dundee, Scotland.
