The 13th Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival hits the George Square Lecture Theatre in the capital this weekend (Feb 6-7). Expect adventure talks and films from the best in the field.

The Glenn Miller Story

Tommy Steele stars in a new musical about the world’s most famous big band leader The Glenn Miller Story, in His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen, from Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13. Evening and matinee performances.

Food on Film

The Kingussie Food on Film Festival put on their famous Festival Food Hall on Saturday, February 6, at The Badenoch Centre, with food and drink stalls from artisan producers and live cookery demonstrations.

Crime and Punishment

From Sunday, February 7, to Friday, February 12, Edinburgh Castle hosts one Gilbert Savage, a medieval executioner here to tell gruesome tales of his trade and dispatch any unruly audience members.

Electric Glen

The Rouken Glen Park has been transformed into an electric wonderland of light, music and fire! The wheelchair-friendly route and outdoor catering open every evening until February 14 (excluding Feb 8 and 9).

The James Plays

Rona Munro’s critically acclaimed James I, II and III return to the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh from Saturday, February 6, for the beginning of their tour bringing three generations of Stewart Kings vividly to life.

Monument Memories

Footerin’ Aboot

The Journey

Mungo Ross has led more expeditions and treks for Jagged Globe than any other leader, and on Monday, Feb 8, he’ll be discussing his treks at Boat of Garten Community Hall in an illustrated talk, It’s All About the Journey – 50 Years in the Great Outdoors.

Crimson Ribbon

Set in Dundee just after the Great War, this play follows two members of the Black Watch who return from France to find a changed city. Catch it at the Gardyne Theatre on Friday, Feb 5.
