Bespoke Atelier

From Friday, December 11, Scottish designers will be showcasing and selling their wares in Glasgow’s Merchant City. The Christmas Pop-Up shop offers unique, hand-crafted, and high-end products, and is open until December 20. Directions and info, here.

Scuba Santa?

Deep Sea World is inviting everyone to join in the festive fun with elf-guided tours and a scuba-diving Santa Claus from December 12. They’re also collecting presents for the Victoria Hospital’s Children’s Ward so take a wee gift with you for the Christmas Giving Tree.

Lunchtime Soundtrack

The latest in Glasgow’s Theatre Royal‘s free Saturday lunchtime concerts sees a Glasgow-based 4-piece band, The Shiverin’ Sheiks, perform some 50s pop, rock ‘n’ roll and doo wop to get you in the mood for the Jersey Boys performance in the theatre at night.

Christmas with a Swing

Fife Jazz Club are hosting a cracking Christmas concert on Sunday, December 13, in the Queensferry Hotel. Afternoon tea is served from 2pm, with music from That Swing Sensation Big Band at 3.30.

Continental Market

Glasgow’s St Enoch Square is home to dozens of great stalls this winter selling craft, jewellery and all sorts of tasty treats. Nip in to the pop-up Gluhwein House for some mulled cider, too – the Tinsel Toffee Cider is a must-try.

Toujours L’Amour

The award-winning Lesley Mackie stars as Edith Piaf in this musical performance on the singer’s life. The sensational show is coming to Dundee’s Gardyne Theatre on Friday, December 11, celebrating the centenary of Piaf’s birth. Book here.

Tale of Two Cities

A new exhibition at Edinburgh Castle explores the links between our capital and other cities throughout the world. The first, connecting Edinburgh with the Chinese city of Nanjing, tracks the early history of the two in a fascinating interactive exhibit. More here.

Buddy Holly and the Cricketers return to Eden Court in Inverness from Friday, December 11 until Sunday, 13 for Holly at Christmas – now a firm fixture in Inverness’ annual festive programme. Book here quick!

Elf Craft

Muddy Boots in Cupar are running a series of craft workshops for children led by Christmas elves, with the first one on this weekend (Dec 12 – 13). The shop and cafe are open 11.30am – 4pm, and there’s also a chance to meet Santa in his grotto.

Inverness Winter Wonderland

Whin Park in Inverness is being illuminated on the evenings of Dec 11, 12 and 13, in a wonderland of light, featuring giant installations and effects created by Limelight Event Services. Great for kids and those young at heart. Info, here.
