Largs Regatta Festival

A weekend of sailing and watersports, with yacht and dinghy races taking place each day, plus other events and activities for non-sailors. On water, the main event is the traditional Round Cumbraes Race, with the weekend kicking-off – on shore – with a fundraising ceilidh.
Thunder In The Glens
Aviemore, August 23-25
One of the biggest events in the Harley Davidson motorbike season, with demonstrations and trade stands. The weekend culminates in a massed bike ride to and from Grantown-on-Spey.
Real Ale Festival
Royal Tay Yacht Club, Dundee, 7pm-12am, August 23
Beer festival with live music showcasing more than 40 real ales, ciders and lagers from Scottish microbreweries.
The Northern Meeting Piping Contest
Eden Court, Inverness, August 29
International event with more than 100 pipers competing.
Much Ado About Nothing

See the well-known Shakespeare play performed outdoors by the HandleBards, the world’s first cycling theatre company.
Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair
Near Blair Atholl, Perthshire, August 22-25
A four-day event testing riders and horses from around the world.
