Southern Fried Festival

Dufftown Games
The 125th Dufftown Highland Games are on this Saturday for both light and heavy events, massed pipe bands, Highland dancing and refreshments in the heart of whisky country.
Wild About Nature
The Wild About Scotland bus is on tour again and from Monday, July 31, it will be at Deep Sea World for two days only – an extra addition to the site’s new interactive exhibition celebrating the natural history of the British Isles.
Crail Festival
The Crail Festival closes on Sunday, July 30! You’ve missed the gin sampling, but there are still loads of fun events on offer so head over to the East Neuk for the last weekend of treasure hunts, sand castle competitions, arts and crafts, and live performances.
Merchant City Festival
It’s the last weekend of the Merchant City Festival, too! You can still book in for the parkour, circus skills and art workshops, or just pop down to enjoy the street art and the culinary delights of the food markets across Saturday and Sunday.
Edinburgh Art
The Edinburgh Art Festival has just begun in venues across the city and will run until Sunday, August 27. Exhibitions, talks and workshops are popping up all over the city – including the first Art Late and festival party on Thursday, Aug 3.
Gin Tasting
On the evening of Saturday, July 29, head to 129 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, for an experience of gin! Live music will accompany a lyrical history of Scotland’s booming gin industry with plenty of gins to sample. Tickets here.
