Famous Grouse Experience Wins Major Whisky Award
The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery in Crieff is toasting being named Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year at Whisky Magazine’s 2015 Icons of Whisky Awards.
Scotland’s oldest and most visited distillery battled it out against 20 other whisky visitor attractions, including many of Scotland’s other top distilleries, to take the coveted title, which was chosen by the voting public. It’s been an exciting time for Scotland’s most popular distillery, which receives an average of 100,000 visitors a year.
During 2014, The Famous Grouse Experience completed a £250,000 investment in its key visitor areas and café and the refurbished facilities were officially opened at the end of May by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, whose visit received international media coverage.
‘Everyone at The Famous Grouse Experience is delighted’
“This is great news for the team,” said Stuart Cassells, General Manager at The Famous Grouse Experience, who was Highly Commended in the Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year category.
“To have picked up the title of Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year and a commendation for Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year is a real honour. The fact that the public have voted for us is the icing on the cake and everyone at The Famous Grouse Experience is simply delighted and exceptionally proud.”
