Scotstyle Top Ten: Finalist Three
Rothesay Pavilion, Isle of Bute
The beating heart of Bute community life, Rothesay Pavilion has hosted tea dances and concerts, football matches and political debates.
Designed in 1936 by award-winning architect James Carrick, it stands today as a fantastic example of international modernism -a simple yet effective design to maximise floor space and make use of the views across Rothesay harbour.
The pavilion is currently undergoing a restoration project after it was placed on the Buildings At Risk Register, and will be open to the public again in 2018.
