A-Z of Secret Edinburgh: Newhaven Harbour
To view some of the best sunsets in the city, head to Newhaven Harbour.
This former fishing village is around three miles from the city centre, between Leith and Granton. With virtually unrestricted views to the west over the Firth of Forth and the picturesque lighthouse in the background, it’s picture postcard perfect.
A working harbour and an award-winning restaurant in the old fish market
Newhaven still has a working harbour and, with the award-winning Loch Fyne restaurant situated in the old fish market, you can enjoy some of the freshly-caught produce. Their two-tier shellfish platter is worthy of a few photographs too!
